Bio
Riccardo Rizzoli (b. 2002, Sesto San Giovanni) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Monza, whose creative practice encompasses painting, sculpture, live performance, video production, and installation. Drawing on his experience as an international freestyle slalom skater, Rizzoli infuses his work with a sense of movement and physicality, using themes of absence, roots, and identity as foundational elements in his exploration of human connection and transformation.
Rizzoli graduated in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation from the University of Milan in 2024. Fluent in English and Russian, his academic background enriches his ability to navigate diverse cultural narratives, which often inform his art. Since 2021, he has developed his artistic voice, blending traditional techniques such as painting and sculpture with innovative methods like 3D printing and inked-wheel action painting. These dynamic processes bridge the gap between visual expression and the performative body, resulting in works that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.
His artistic journey has included exhibitions in Italy, showcasing commitment in collaborative projects. Highlights on the visual exhibition Tra le Ciglia (2023, Binario 7, Monza), presented with Jasmine Prezioso and curated by Heart Young, as well as Radicarsi (2024, Biblioteca Comunale, Viganò), in collaboration with Elisabetta Gatti. Riccardo has contributed to group shows such as Trespassing (2022, Heart - Pulsazioni Culturali, Vimercate), L’appello degli assenti (2023, Palazzo Arese Borromeo, Cesano Maderno, with ReLove), and performed for significant local events, Trentennale dell'Hospice di Abbiategrasso - Cura e Dignità (2024, Convento dell'Annunciata).
Parallel to his artistic endeavors, Riccardo works as a project manager and teacher with PlayMore! in Milan, organizing inclusive sporting and cultural events. He also worked as telecaster and speaker for international skating competitions.
Through his multidisciplinary practice, Riccardo delves into the liminal spaces of memory, motion, and identity, crafting works that transform the ephemeral into lasting impressions, challenging perceptions of absence and presence, and embodying the profound relationship between body and the world.
